Lets work together to end the silence around Mental Health!
we are a clothing brand that cares!
Help us raise mental health awareness
Since our launch two years ago, we have sponsored events from the Barbican to university student projects. Sponsorship enables us to reach out and raise awareness about our brand
We want to be the go to trusted brand for positive mental health clothing. Whatlabel was founded by someone who gets it and struggles with mental illness everyday, at our core, everything has been designed around real life experiences, not on guess work to make a quick buck or get in on a trend.
As we are exclusively online, building brand recognition is essential to our success and reaching as many people as possible. We are on a mission to raise awareness about mental illness through strong positive messages while sharing resources created by young people through the charity Fixers.
Sponsorship has been a great way for us to reach different peoples and cultures as we recognise that mental health affects everyone, just like physical health! Since launch we have sponsored various corporate events from Eventlabs at the Barbican, to the UKs first Mental Health Conference for Bloggers in 2018, we have recently just finished supporting a fashion student Toni with her magazine project before the lockdown in 2020. We have even donated clothing to charity fundraisers and events promoting mental health at local fetes. We not only sponsor other brands and events, but we are looking for brands to sponsors Whatlabel and support our mission especially if you can help us raise funds for our chosen charities and projects.
Although we are based in the UK, we promote mental health awareness around the world having already shipped to 17 different countries, if you are interested in sponsorship with us, one factor you will need to consider is we remain neutral in matters of religion, politics and philosophical issues and focus purely on the education side of mental health so not to compromise our message.
Interested in sponsorship? lets talk! Send us an email with a proposal via our contact page or DM us on social media and we will get back to you.

Toni Clarke – University student 2019
After 4 long years of university, beginning my studies with the hopes of one day becoming a fashion journalist, of course my final major project had to be my own magazine
Titled ‘Msg.’, the publication designed for Millennial tackles the issues of mental health, gender/identity and sustainability in relation to the fashion industry. Writing all of the articles myself, I collaborated with talented young creatives from illustrators to photographers, models to stylists and brands, while the magazine makes use of QR codes which allow you to instantly connect with & shop from the individuals and brands you’ll find amongst the pages. I’m so excited to announce you can officially catch Msg. IRL at London Graduate Fashion Week by the Manchester Fashion Institute stand between the 2nd – 5th June!!
A HUGE thank you again to all of my contributors whom helped me make this happen:

Eventlabs – barbican CENTRE 2018
On 23rd & 24th October Hire Space welcomed 800 delegates to the beautiful Conservatory at the Barbican. As conference venues go it really has the wow-factor, combined with a serene, relaxing atmosphere that comes from being in, well, a jungle.
This year they curated a line-up of speakers from across the events industry who explored the issues that matter most to event professionals today. The introduction of speakers outside of the industry also broadened the discussion, from the myths of A.I. and how it can be used in events, to networking and unconventional leadership, the Conference Stage was alive with insight and debate.
Whatlabel was please to provide tees to all the event staff with one of our popular original designs with Eventlab branding on the front. As our first sponsored event we were really proud to our brand for the first time being worn by so many at once as they walked around the amazing venue.

A little about us and our values
Courage
Mental illness takes courage.
It is hard to live with, it is hard to talk about, it is hard to support others living with it. Mental illness is stigmatised and misunderstood.
As a Clothing brand exclusively aimed at raising awareness around Mental illness, courage is a core value of Whatlabel, from our creation and development, to sharing our products, to our customers that wear our clothing, we know we are not printing kittens and puppies on our clothing so our hat goes off to you for supporting us as we carve our way into the big world.
Not for profit
Simply put, we are not here for profit.
As long as we make enough to keep the lights on, we’re happy. Any profit we make goes back into frontline projects and charities making a difference.
We are purely focused on you, the customer, the quality of our brand, clothing and designs with the goal of ending the stigma and silence surrounding Mental Illness.
Understanding
To build a brand around Mental illness takes the kind of understanding you from personal experience.
Mental illness is a hard subject, it demands respect and understanding you can only get from personally experiencing it from yourself and everything that comes with it.
Whatlabel has been created by people that get it, we have the labels, we have experienced the stigma, we have had the judgemental conversations. We have sat in front of the TV zonked out of SSRI and all the side effects they come with. We have battled for treatment and met the Drs who did not get it. We know what it is like to be judged because of our labels.
Our products are made with love! We care about our customers and we hope you will trust us as your go to brand.
commitment
We are in it for the long haul!
Whatlabel has been a challenge to develop with a lot of time, planning, colour samples and Pinterest sessions getting it right.
Creating a brand around mental illness comes with a weighty responsibility, one we take seriously. We constantly ask ourselves, What a mental health brand is supposed to look like? Are we acheieving our core mission and what can we do to improve?
We did not have many examples to guide us in the creation of Whatlabel, we recognise what we have created is unique, and we are thankful for the support we have received so far. We are very aware of the criticism’s many had about past failed mental health brands and we hope to learn from their failures. We do not expect Whatlabel to hit the ball out the park from the get-go and we will change and adapt as we go. We plan to be here for the long haul with your support.
Our Mission
We want to end the stigma and misunderstandings around mental illness, while becoming a trusted, go to mental health brand that you know and trusted is created by like minded people who get it!
*August 2020 update: We do not like how mental illness is currently being turned into a fashion trend with many Chinese wholesalers jumping on the band wagon and selling cheap knockoff designs that are resold on big name marketplaces. Many of the designs are tacky and stigmating without any thought all for the aim of profit.
*We believe clothing is a great way to raise awareness around mental illness, but only if it is done with the right intentions and designed and treated with respect. We hope instead of people purchasing from unknown sellers selling for a quick profit, you will choose us as a trusted source where we give back the profit to struggling front-line mental health charities.
Our Vision
We want to become an established, recognisable brand that has the power to spark conversation and break the silence around Mental Illness and wellbeing through positive encouraging designs using Apparel, Accessories and Homeware.
Because we recognise how complex, sensitive and stigmatised many of the conditions we are trying to raise awareness about, we continue to refine our clothing and build on our new brand, having already gone through a website and brand refresh for our 1st anniversary. If you are a regular visitor waiting for what we have next, rest assured we have lots of incoming designs with plans to refine how we categorise clothing taking enthuses away from gender and focus on the messages we are sharing on our clothing.

WHY PRINT ON DEMAND? WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR CUSTOMERS?
Simply put, we learned from other mental health brands across the pond. Whatlabel is not a large company, we are a small eCommerce site which means we have lots of room to make changes as we grow. Whatlabel was built from the ground up to integrate with an amazing print on demand company called Printful who take care of the production, packaging and shipping of all our products leaving us more time to get creative.
As customers, what this means for you when placing an order on our website, instead of us packaging and shipping your order from existing stock, what happens is your order will be sent to Printful (a worldwide printing company) they will then print your chosen design onto a Blank version of the product you ordered and print the design fresh onto it, they will then do a quality check and package and ship it from their fulfilment centres located around the world. If something goes missing, gets broken or is of poor quality, Printful will ensure a smooth return and refund for you. They take care of the back end for us while we take care of the design, branding, website and advertising. This protects customers and if we need to take some time off due to our disabilities, our website will continue to function automatically, and our customers will be able to continue buying products and receiving them without any interruption. This also means its brand new just for you, no one has tried it on, plus it hasn't been left in a box at the bottom of a basement. It also means if you want something a little more custom for an event, we can create something really quick and get it printed next day, something a traditional business would struggle with.
I LOVE YOUR BRAND, HOW CAN I HELP SUPPORT YOU?
We get lots of fan mail from our followers and customers asking how they can support us. We are so pleased that our brand is growing in recognition.
The obvious way to support us is through donations to our chosen charities and the purchasing of our clothing.
Another way you can help is by sharing our content on social media, perhaps you would like to be an affiliate and help us advertise our brand on your blog, website, or publications. We are also happy to receive sponsorship deals and blogging opportunities.
Finally the ultimate way you can support us is by wearing our products and posting images on social media (Dont forget to tag us). We are always on the lookout for images to use in advertising.
WHAT PAYMENTS DO YOU ACCEPT?
We accept all major cards including Apple and Google pay.
All card payments are processed via our payment provider Stripe. Our website is HTTPs secure and we abide by GDPR so we collect the absolute minimal data about our customers.
DO YOU DO CUSTOM DESIGNS FOR EVENTS?
Yes! If you like one of our designs for an event, business, or charity giveaway but want your branding included, or you have a design you would like to use, we can print on a large array of products including prints, homeware and a huge variety of clothing including a limited range of sportswear. For an additional fee we can create custom designs and send them to the printer next day.
We also have a large catalogue of blank products for our everyday customers we can print onto, we appreciate our current stock is limited while we are still growing so if you are looking for something specific, or would like one of our designs on something thats not stocked, contact us at [email protected] and we will be more than happy to help!
DO YOU DO SPONSORSHIP DEALS?
Yes, since launch we have had a busy two years featuring our products at various events we have sponsored around the UK.
We are always happy to hear from you about ideas for sponsorship. We also accept sponsors for our own brand and are on the lookout for 2020.
Important note: We are a small growing eCommerce business that donates most of our profit. As we are dependant on Print on demand, we dont keep large amounts of stock and we are not able to fund large giveaways. It is not of any benefit to us to sponsor inappropriate events so please keep in mind our brand mission and goals. Unlike most brands, we have to be extra sensitive as to who we work with due to the subject matter we represent, we are dedicated 100% to raising awareness around Autism, mental health and disabilities, the last thing we want to do is support something that goes against our brands core identity.
